"Raw Materials" is synthesizer naivety, hovering between maximalist ambience and minimalist improvisation. Devised during a honeymoon phase with two 4U panels built by Loudest Warning, it still isn't a purist concept bound to hardware instruments. Rather, it aims to accept the incidental nuances of feedback and randomness in sound and lets them guide composition.

Technicalities:

01 - Die Erkundung: Sound from a Bugbrand Modular, layered as chords in Ableton.

02 - Map of Shades: Sound from a Moog Matriarch, additional pads from Loudest Warning 4U panels

03 - Ringe zu Wolken: Sound from Loudest Warning 4U panels, drowned in Ableton Reverb + granular pitch shifts

04 - Wolken zu Ringen: Sound from Loudest Warning 4U panels (toms, voice pads, waveshaping pad) and Bugbrand Modular (saxophone-like sound)

05 - Ringe zu Dingen: Sound from own voice, layered in Ableton with a granular sampler. Additional software synthesizer for bass plus elements from previous track.

06 - EOC: Sound from Loudest Warning 4U panels and Bugbrand Modular, further composition in Ableton.

07 - Expectancy Management: Sound from Loudest Warning 4U panels, further composition in Ableton.

08 - Go Route: Sound recorded as live improvisation from Loudest Warning 4U panels, no additional layering.

09 - Never Have I Never: Sound from Loudest Warning 4U panels, further composition in Ableton.

10 - Conveyor: Sound from Loudest Warning 4U panels, further composition in Ableton.
